What Book Can You Read Now To Start Building Greater Success

Developing the Next Generation of Rainmakers What Book Can You Read Now to Start Building Greater Success? If you haven’t already, you should read: Succeed: How We Can Reach Our Goals. It is a book that will give you insights and tips on how you can reach your goals. If you are a regular reader, you know I have referenced Dr. Heidi Gran Halvorson’s writing several times in:  Client Development: Change What You Think it Takes to Succeed,  Why Some Potential Rainmakers are Overlooked,  A Top Success Tip: Set a Goal and Review Obstacles,  Are you doing the 9 things successful lawyers do differently?, and  10 Things Successful Lawyers I Have Coached Do Differently. Recently I shared with lawyers I coach a What Successful People Do Differently podcast  interview, including the transcript. Several lawyers I coach found Dr. Halvorson’s podcast helpful. Are you energized by your 2013 business plan? If not, consider this quote from the book: Big-picture, why thinking about your goal is most helpful for getting you motivated and energized, focusing you on the rewards you can gain, and encouraging self-control and persistence. Nitty-gritty, what thinking will benefit you most when your goal involves doing something difficult or unfamiliar, focusing you on the practical details of getting the job done, and helping you to avoid procrastination. Read that quote a couple of times. The essence is you have to do big picture “why” thinking to get yourself motivated and energized. Then you have got to do the nitty-gritty what thinking to take action to achieve your goals. You will find many other great ideas in the book. As I have mentioned in previous blog posts, when I read a business book, I highlight what I believe applies to me and then print the highlights. If you have a Kindle or Kindle app for your iPad, you can highlight while you are reading and go to your Kindle page to collect what you have highlighted. If you would like for me to recommend other books, share with me the topic that you want to learn.   I practiced law for 37 years developing a national construction law practice representing some of the top highway and transportation construction contractors in the US.

The next step for US Womens National Team is equal pay

The subsequent stage for US Women's National Team is equivalent compensation The subsequent stage for US Women's National Team is equivalent compensation The US Women's National Team moved beyond the little test in winning the World Cup. Presently comes the crucial step: getting equivalent pay.Equal pay has been an idea that is encircled the ladies' group for a considerable length of time and kept on circling all through the competition. The US, which won the title Sunday after a 2-0 win against the Netherlands, was serenaded with a noisy and amazing equivalent compensation serenade soon after winning their fourth World Cup title, the most in the sport.I think everybody is prepared for this discussion to move to the subsequent stage, US skipper Megan Rapinoe said after Sunday's success, as indicated by The Guardian. I believe we're finished with: 'Are we justified, despite all the trouble, should we have equivalent compensation, is the market the equivalent?' Yada yada.Follow Ladders on Flipboard!Follow Ladders' magazines on Flipboard covering Happiness, Productivity, Job Satisfaction, Neuroscience, and more!Everyone's finished with t hat; fans are finished with that, players are finished with that. From numerous points of view, I think supports are finished with that. How about we get to the following point. What's straightaway? How would we bolster ladies' alliances and ladies' projects far and wide? What can Fifa do to do that? What would we be able to do to help the groups the world over? she stated, having shaken into the question and answer session late, shouting I just murdered doping! Prior to the competition, the individuals from the US ladies' group sued the US Soccer Federation for sexual orientation separation. They refered to wages and working conditions that were not equivalent to the men's national group, which has won zero World Cups and falls off missing the World Cup in 2018 and a Gold Cup finals misfortune against Mexico Sunday. At this snapshot of gigantic pride for America, the miserable condition stays very clear, and Americans won't represent it any longer. These competitors produce more inc ome and collect higher TV appraisals yet get paid less just on the grounds that they are ladies, Molly Levinson, a representative for the USWNT players in their equivalent compensation claim, told CNN. It is the ideal opportunity for the Federation to address this divergence once and for all.On a worldwide scale, there are endless contrasts between the people's down that extends to various nations. While some like Norway have gained ground for balance, the prize cash among people's World Cups differ radically. The men's prize cash bested at $400 million out of 2018, yet for the ladies' portion this month in France, the players' pot was fundamentally littler at just $30 million this year.FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who was booed by fans during Sunday's conclusive, said a week ago that FIFA was taking a gander at multiplying the ladies' competition prize cash for 2023.It positively isn't reasonable, said Rapinoe before the last. We should twofold it now and utilize that number to twofold it or fourfold it for whenever. That is what I mean when we talk about, 'Do we feel respected?'Rapinoe, who won the Golden Boot grant as the competition's driving scoring, addressed whether FIFA really minded enough. If you truly care, would you say you are allowing the hole to gap? Is it true that you are booking three finals around the same time? No, you're not, Rapinoe stated, alluding to the Concacaf Gold Cup and Copa America last, all hung on Sunday. Is it true that you are letting alliances have their groups play two games in the four years between every competition? No, you're not, Rapinoe said. That is the thing that I mean about the degree of care, you need consideration and detail and the best personalities that we have in the ladies' down, helping it develop each and every day.

Tips For Writing A Resume - Tips For Writing A Resume In the Right Format

Tips For Writing A Resume - Tips For Writing A Resume In the Right FormatThere are some tips for writing a resume that will help you be a success at this job hunt. These tips are from the thousands of people who have become unemployed over the years and have made it into the real world because of the skills they acquired from their resumes. The first tip is to have your work experience listed where you are most needed, such as the first bullet point in the top section of the resume. If the job you are seeking requires a doctorate degree, include details of any education you have had and how long it took. It will make it easier for potential employers to evaluate your work experience.Next, consider all the skills and knowledge you may be able to provide them with, and include this information in the resource section. You may even decide to list the highest level of education you have earned in your area of expertise, if you believe you are well suited for that particular position. This makes it much easier for someone to skim over your resume and pick up on what you know from your work history. Don't forget to list any awards you have received.Another of the tips for writing a resume is to list the positions you have held in an order of importance. For example, if you are seeking a tenure-track position, the second-highest position you held should be listed first. If you were employed by an institution that does not offer tenure-track positions, list the highest position that you held, followed by those lower positions. You should also include a list of positions you might be open to in a 'pending' format so that employers can see if you are open to some positions, while you are not open to others. Letting them know this can save them time, money, and a lot of hassle. However, don't include this information all in one place, because too many overlapping positions can look unprofessional and overworked. The title of your resume should include all the information abo ut your background, including your professional background, work history, references, and your overall resume should include your name and contact information. Include all your achievements, skills, and any certificates or awards you may have received. If you hold a higher level of education than required by the job, list that as well. This will help employers easily assess whether you can do the job. After you have written the resume, your employer should see your resume before even looking at yours. They want to read it, so they will examine it carefully before they start reading it. Include any necessary corrections to the resume, such as any spelling or grammatical errors. Be sure to include the references, even if you didn't use them or they weren't appropriate for the job.Remember, your resume should be perfect and attractive to the reader. There is no room for mistakes, but mistakes in a nice way that can catch the attention of the employer. Your resume is the first impression employers get of you, so it is important to keep this first impression at the top of your resume.

How the Uberization of Manufacuring Impacts HR the Economy - Workology

How the Uberization of Manufacuring Impacts HR the Economy - Workology Distributed Manufacturing One of the frequent prognostications for the future is the change in the manufacturing model. Many people see manufacturing becoming additive; done more closely to the user and even done by workers in their homes through the use of 3D technology. Certainly the signs are pointing that way. One of the problems I see with this change is that resistance of government. Distributed Manufacturing According to Bernard Meyerson of the World Economic Forum: Distributed manufacturing turns on its head the way we make and distribute products. In traditional manufacturing, raw materials are brought together, assembled and fabricated in large centralized factories into identical finished products that are then distributed to the customer. In distributed manufacturing, the raw materials and methods of fabrication are decentralized, and the final product is manufactured very close to the final customer. He further says “the idea of distributed manufacturing is to replace as much of the material supply chain as possible with digital information.” Rather than making products and sending them to customers, we send plans for making products to local hub producers, who then take those plans and produce product as needed for local customers. He says “Distributed manufacturing is expected to enable a more efficient use of resources, with less wasted capacity in centralized factories.” Much of this distributed manufacturing is relying on smaller, even DIYer, type of operations for success. However, that labor model raises some issues, such as we are seeing with other “gig” economy models. Gig Economy Sometimes the gig economy is called the “Uberization” of whatever is being referred to. So in this case we could potentially refer to distributed manufacturing as the “uberization” of manufacturing. Much like Uber, who professes to be a data company that distributes data about riders to willing drivers, distributed manufacturing could be viewed the same way. A company produces a plan for a product, has a customer for the product and what they do is find a producer for the product in the customers market. The worker has a 3D printer in his garage and is willing to produce what is needed. This has a growing appeal to some companies. Unfortunately I think they would run into many of the same problems that Uber is running into. Government and Unions Don’t Like the “Gig” Economy The IRS, the US Department of Labor, state labor departments and tax agencies are not fans of the gig economy. We all know why the IRS wants workers to be employees, because it is easier to collect taxes from employers. State agencies feel the same way. Unions want workers to be employees because without employees their model does not exist at all and thus they have no dues to collect. All of these agencies and groups evaluate how much control a company has over the worker producing or delivering their product or service. As we all know, that is how the distinction is made on whether someone is an independent contractor or not. So that is going to be the big hurdle as we move into this world of distributed manufacturing. It will present a lot of opportunities for workers to be independent, but some of them won’t like that independence and the government will certainly be resistant to it. In fact there is a current clamp down on the use of independent contractors. In order to progress we will have to solve the definitions and approaches to this issue and other gig economy issues. Advances will have to be made in modifying the legal structure around the definition of “employee.” Talk about resistance to change!  That will have to occur under the auspices of a different generation than mine.

What to Wear on Your First Day of Work - Cubicle Chic

What to Wear on Your First Day of Work - Cubicle Chic What to Wear on Your First Day of Work Corporate Life, Corporate Style, How To Wear, Work Outfit June 26, 2017 7 CommentsDisclaimer: I have banded together with BetaBrand to show you a couple of various office agreeable workwear pieces that I was given. I have been quite a while fanatic of BetaBrand (for around 2 years) and I am unbelievably eager to work with them! Utilize my code JESSICA15 to get 15% off your order!!What I expound on Cubicle Chic is regularly an immediate impression of what's happening in my life. On that note, I am glad to report that, following 4 months of funemployment and blogging full time, I'm returning to working all day this week! As I plan for my first day of work on Monday the 23rd, I have been pondering all the various parts of how to establish the best connections with the first day.The first day of work is frequently nerve wracking on the grounds that it has a great deal of flighty elements. You don't generally have a clue whether the day will be loaded up with gatherings, or wrenching out t rainings and consenting to arrangement alone at your work area. You don't have a clue whether you will have a ton of undertakings as of now or have a ton of time to absorb more knowledge. One component you can control on the principal day of work, be that as it may, is the way you dress.Remember what you wore to your meeting? Wear something comparable on your first day of work. To your manager, the main day is somewhat of a critical point in time. They get the opportunity to get familiar with you, realize what you're similar to being in the new office, and watch how you adjust to the new office condition. Wear something that individuals would anticipate that you should wear, for example what you wore to your meeting. It comforts your manager, that causes them to feel like you're a similar individual that they chose to hire.Be a cooperative person and mix in on your first day.In most corporate office settings, being a cooperative person is vital attribute. On your first day, ideally y ou've set aside some effort to explore the best possible clothing standard. Be progressively similar to others, blend in with what you wear, and hype the cooperative person picture. If all else fails, pick neutrals over hues, formal over easygoing, and organized fitted over loose.Go simple on adornments and gems. Recall that kiddie apron pieces of jewelry are 2012 (much obliged for making this statement, Angie!), and modest/downplayed adornments are progressively present currently, yet ideal for your first day ensemble.P.S. Gramceri is my preferred modest gems architect and they are VERY reasonable (under $50 more often than not) and all around made. I've worn a ton of pieces from them for longer than a year at this point and the hues don't fade!Get prepared for your identification/ID photo.More frequently than not, your organization identification photograph will be assumed the principal day of your activity. Wear something that you'd prefer to have appearing in your organization ID . A few general guidelines: wear low neck area (suitably in this way, obvi), tidy up your hair, wear insignificant gems (for example either just studs or just accessory, not both), wear the MLBB sort of lipstick, and recall to smile!Wear your comfort item. This is an individual mantra of mine. Maybe it's a less odd variant of conveying a four leaf clover. It moves in the direction of any piece of your outfit â€" shoes, jacket, jeans, or how to wear your hair. For your first day of work, wear something you generally wear. Wear something that causes you to feel such as yourself (except if you're looking at wearing PJ… .at that point don't act naturally LOL). For me, this dark organized blazer (I take a size little), chic and breathable, is my go-to bits of workwear. Job Hopping - DOs and DONTs - A Guide

Job Hopping - DOs and DONTs - A Guide Some might say job hopping, the practice of changing jobs frequently in a short period of time, is career suicide. Many hiring managers are biased against job hoppers seeing frequent employment changes as a sign of flakiness or unreliability.More and more, however, it’s becoming evident that job hopping may not be the career curse it once was. After all, lifelong job security is impossible to find these days.In a turbulent business environment, professionals are often forced to move more frequently than theyd like. Others are hopping by choice, looking for ways to develop skills and experience and avoiding dead-end positions. If youre making an even broader change, you may want to read our post on career change tips to help you navigate uncharted territory.Because of all of this, most of todays employers are more open to considering an applicant with a short tenure or two on their resume. However, keep in mind that a consistent history of job hopping (staying less than 2 years and especially less than 1 year) can affect your chances of getting hired. So when it’s time once again for you to interview for a new job, you must be prepared to discuss your reasons for leaving each position in a way that shows youre not flaky or unreliable. Here are some guidelines to help you downplay any job-hopping (real or perceived) and land your next position.DO Highlight The ExperienceAn extensive job history shouldnt necessarily set off alarm bells. Your past illustrates a rich field of experiences, and these experiences are what make you a competent employee.Your best bet is to spin these moves as strategic. That is, these frequent job moves were an effort to gain as much knowledge and expertise as possible. If the field is changing with each job (or every few), it’s important to stress how each job was a building block to construct a strong background that would be valuable in your next role making your perfect for the position at hand.DO Stress Your SkillsHaving had such a variety (or at least a number) of jobs, you’ve probably got a few different tasks under your belt. For example, a young professional who went from working in marketing to advertising would have a well rounded skill set for public relations. Having dabbled in a bit of everything can bring you knowledge of where your strengths lie, and how to use them effectively.DO Share Your InfoYou’ve worked for a few different companies, and now you’re interviewing with another. Think about how knowledge gained from past experience can help this potential next company. If you’re interviewing with a small start-up, your time spent with a large company gives you knowledge about policies and procedures the little guys may value. On the flip side, entrepreneurial attitude and budget consciousness learned at a small company can make you a great hire for a larger firm.DONT Speak Ill of the PastIt’s not entirely unheard of, of course, to leave a job due to a mismatch of personalities or misalignment with company values or politics. Sharing negative reasons for leaving a job, however, doesn’t really help you. In the working world, you must be able to play nice.Negativity and blaming will only raise concerns that you have trouble getting along in a work environment. Thats not always fair. After all, there are plenty of bad bosses in the world. However, to make a great impression in an interview, its best to remain neutral and diplomatic when discussing reasons for leaving a position (especially if you have several departures to discuss over the last few years).Focus on the positive as much as you can. Employers would rather hear about you leaving to take on new challenges or opportunities than running away from a bad situation. If you must mention negative issues that prompted you to leave prematurely, keep your explanation general and neutral. For example, avoid: The new head of operations was totally incompetent and just didnt like me because I didnt kiss up to h im properly. Even if this is true, saying it makes you look gossipy and self-serving.Try a more neutral version: A new head of operations came in and the department changed drastically, to the point that I didnt see opportunities for me to continue taking on new challenges in the position.DONT Follow The MoneyImplying (or saying outright) that you’ve left a job to pursue a higher salary is another way to raise red flags. Hiring managers are looking for candidates driven by more than just dollar signs.Theres nothing wrong with expecting to be paid what youre worth, but nobody wants to hire an applicant who can be easily lured away for a few more dollars. The key is to put the focus on the opportunity and the work, not the paycheck. Saying that you’ve left jobs due primarily to higher pay can make you look disloyal.DONT Put Your Stability in QuestionThere are a number of ways you can imply you’re not right for the job at hand, and one of them is getting a little too enthusiasti c about your extensive history. Leaving a job after less than a year is not unheard of, but if you’ve got more than one job that falls into that category, steer the hiring manager away from thinking it is in your nature.“Boredom” is not a good reason to have left a company, but “finding a lack of available growth opportunities” is. Be sure to stress that you attempted to make it work at each company before moving on.Emphasize any longer-term positions on your resume to show that you are a candidate who can and will stick around and grow with the company when opportunities are there.Follow these guidelines and prepare in advance how to address why you left each position. With these tips, you can play down your job hopping and play up your strengths.Connect with Pamela Skillings on Google+

Self-esteem and searching for a job - Margaret Buj - Interview Coach

Confidence and looking for work Everyone is discussing how significance fearlessness is with regards to getting a new line of work; and yes it significant. Be that as it may, … One thing that individuals don't discuss is that during that extreme excursion of getting a new line of work, you will confront dismissals, disillusionments and numerous terrible days, things that will harm your confidence. In this way, it truly has neither rhyme nor reason telling somebody that creating self-assurance will get him/her an occupation, in light of the fact that the street is tied in with bringing down confidence. A mean chief, a forceful collaborators and an extreme rivalry, and before we can truly discover our place and have the option to truly have that activity, we have to ensure that those occasions won't hurt our confidence. In this article, we will examine a portion of the things that can harm your confidence and how to manage them; we're going to discuss dismissal and mediocrity. 1.Rejection: Truly it harms gravely! Truth be told, it's something that we dread the most, and it can leave us with zero confidence. Why dismissal harms gravely? Regardless of whether in our own or expert life, we detest it! Also, perhaps that is on the grounds that it causes us to feel like we're sufficiently bad and that we're not up to gauges. Perhaps profound inside us we would prefer not to feel disliked or undesirable, and that is the reason we dread dismissal, and furthermore why our confidence is influenced. Yet, actually, in reality, in case we're not kidding about progress and carrying on with a superior life, we can't let dismissal control us, on the grounds that in any case, it's unavoidable. Pause! Is it unavoidable? Truly it's, it resembles demise! Regardless of how incredible you're, you're going to go over individuals who are not keen on what you have, and furthermore you're going to run over desirous individuals who will begrudge you. Thus, we need to understand this reality, the best way to keep away from dismissal is to never really, and, after its all said and done, a few people will dismiss you since you're not beneficial!! What's more, this reality drives us to another significant certainty, which is: extraordinary individuals get dismissed as well, acclaimed individuals got dismissed, simply look profound inside their account and you will discover that their magnificence was develop on dismissals and disappointment. Inadequacy: Inadequacy can be something to be thankful for, in truth a few speculations recommends that it's what makes babies become skilled grown-ups, as they end up in a spot where everyone outflanks them, so they feel substandard and subsequently develop. Be that as it may, there's one sort of inadequacy that is exceptionally risky, and it as a rule originates from three significant sources: The individual as of now feels terrible about him/her self, and subsequently, consistently searches for what's going on with him/her, and along these lines consistently finds others superior to him/her, regardless of whether they're most certainly not. Out of line correlation: on the off chance that you're contrasting your ball abilities and Micheal Jorden's aptitudes, at that point you're not being reasonable with yourself by any means. Mediocrity blended in with weakness: envision that little infants feel second rate compared to us, yet they feel defenseless, feeling like they can't do anything, that is an ideal formula for disappointment and enthusiastic torment. These sentiment of mediocrity can harm your confidence, so halting these musings and embracing another perspective is simply the way to spare your regard, particularly during the intense occasions of getting another line of work. Things being what they are, how would I do that? In my manual for assemble fearlessness, I talked inside and out about discernments and convictions and how they influence self-assurance, these negative musings are only misshaped convictions and recognitions, and to ensure that you don't let the sentiments of mediocrity influence you, you first should know about the three focuses referenced previously. From that point onward, you have to begin addressing and testing the terrible musings, for instance, on the off chance that you're having a feeling that you're sufficiently bad, at that point you have to begin to challenge those considerations and understand that they're false (YES THEY'RE NOT TRUE). Additionally ensuring that you don't get powerless, regardless, on the off chance that you can't accomplish something now, you proceed to figure out how, you practice it until you ace it, there's nothing that you can't learn. With such convictions, mediocrity will turn into an inspiration, since you don't have terrible seeds in your mind like the ones talked about above. And furthermore dismissal won't hurt you since you realize that you can turn out to be better over the long haul. An activity plan: Record the great characteristic that you have (perhaps recently the way that you're looking for an occupation) Also, every time you wind up in a circumstance where you begin to feel terrible while looking for work, or all the more explicitly feeling awful as a result of the things referenced above (dismissal and inadequacy), I need you to do the following: Begin scrutinizing your musings immediately with all the tips referenced in this article, and decline to attach your value with your activity, all that while realizing that you're as of now have incredible capacities, and help yourself to remember your great qualities (audit your rundown of extraordinary characteristics, in any event you're attempting o get a new line of work, and on the off chance that you think you have none, you need to open your eyes more extensive). As basic as that, even the littlest changes can develop extra time and get you in a better place in the long run, absolutely never let anything to cause you to feel like you're less significant or less skilled. The Author Bio: Mosab Alkhteb is energetic about brain research, personal growth and essentially anything that can assist us with getting better, he invests his energy learning and living, while at the same time sharing the great natural products in his site, in his extra time, hes attempting to build up some great propensities from brain research and blogging.

What LinkedIns IPO Means for You

What LinkedIns IPO Means for You Now that the dust has settled a bit on LinkedIns successful IPO, you might have wondered what the implications are for your job search. Will the site change? What will happen to your membership? Are more people expected to join? Will another networking hub overtake LinkedIn as the favorite of businesspeople and job seekers? Here are some musings on what the new state of LinkedIn can mean for you: Site changes. Interestingly enough, LinkedIn HAS changed its functionality significantly over the past 18 months, potentially in prepartion for its IPO. In case you didnt notice, the new Skills sections and search functionality appeared late last year. In addition, site functions that once were available from the top menu bar started to drift around. More notably, the Settings page became more user-friendly, with the Privacy controls a bit easier to understand. So, it IS possible that the navigation and menus will continue to shift but keep in mind that much of the change may have already occurred. More jobs. No, Im not referring to the sites job search engine, but the company itself. Its expected that the company will start to boost its technology workforce, and may even open offices outside of California meaning that a slot could open up for you. A burgeoning membership.Imitators and new social networking sites aside (Quora, anyone?), LinkedIn is on a tear with its growth, and most site watchers dont expect it to slow anytime soon. At last estimate, the site had around 100 million registered users, but this number is somewhat skewed from the volume of orphan and duplicate profiles. As many recruiters (more than 90% of all active headhunters, according to careers industry surveys) mine the site for the ultimate candidates, LinkedIn is still a mecca for those wanting to find (companies, jobs, services, etc.) and be found. The takeaway? Keep that LinkedIn Profile polished  for searchability and branding, and your radar up when it comes to maximizing the site. As business activity continues to grow, and the site continues to attract attention, more features and more active users can only mean that youre in the right place as a job hunter.

Healthy Recovery Tips After Breast Augmentation - What You Should Know

Healthy Recovery Tips After Breast Augmentation - What You Should Know Breast augmentation is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures today. Women sometimes desire bigger, firmer and fuller breasts. While a lot of them think about the effect solely, it’s the recovery process they should be focusing on. Here’s what you can expect after the procedure and what you should do to help a healthy recovery process. Breast Augmentation Recovery Timeline The healing process takes time and depends on several variables such as implant size, its placement, and type, pain tolerance as well as the individual body’s recovery response. All of these factors can impact the healing process; however, it typically takes about six weeks. You should give your body enough time to heal and take good care of yourself after the operation. Here’s an outline of every recovery stage after breast augmentation. After 24 hours Right after the surgery you will feel tired and can expect moderate discomfort. Because you will also feel sore, your arms movement will be limited, so a little help moving around, preparing meals and dressing during the first few days can be very useful. You might also experience nausea, swelling, and light bruising. Drinking alcohol, smoking, and taking blood-thinning medications are not recommended. Physical activity is not an option either. After 2 to 10 days Most women will still experience moderate pain, as well as swelling and bruising which can last for up to one month. You will most likely be able to drive again. After two days taking a shower will be fine too. Patients are also instructed to perform displacement exercises, which can prevent common complications. After one week you will be able to go back to work; however, physical activity is still restricted, so avoid bending and lifting. After 10 to 14 days Performing regular daily activities will be much easier now. Light physical activity can also be resumed. Heavy lifting and intense cardio exercises are still off limits at this point. The pain will be lessened, if not gone completely. After 2 to 3 weeks Continue with the displacement exercises. You can go to the gym and do some lower body exercises, but you should still refrain from any upper body workouts at this point. That means squats are okay, push-ups are not. After 4 to 6 weeks After one month you will be able to see the first signs of the final effect of your breast augmentation. You will be able to resume your workout routine as well, although avoid chest exercises Six weeks is usually the recovery completion time. The implants are fully-settled, and the pain is completely gone. When it comes to physical activity, you will be able to run and work out on your upper body with no limits. After several months Several months after breast augmentation you will be able to see if the procedure met your expectations. Scars will start to fade and after two years will become almost invisible, blending with your skin. After three months you will be able to resume heavy lifting. Healthy Recovery Tips Healthy recovery is crucial. If done well it can speed the recovery time and improve your comfort. Fortunately, modern medicine minimized the pain ensuring a relatively hassle-free recovery; nevertheless, certain precautions need to be taken into consideration. There’s a lot you can do to have a smooth and pleasant healing time. Help Having someone to help you in the first few days is a relief. You will be forced to rely on another person as even simple everyday activities may feel extremely painful. Ideally, have someone stay with you for 2-3 days after the procedure to ensure the initial recovery stage is pleasant and stress-free. Diet Breast augmentation surgeons from Seattle advise that its important to eat healthily and this means no fast food, fizzy drinks or sweets. Make sure you have enough light snacks right beside your bed. Bananas will be ideal in the first few days as they ease nausea. It’s also recommended to eat something before you take medications. A healthy diet is one thing, but staying hydrated is crucial. It will help if you experience constipation, which is quite common after the surgery. Water will reduce the swelling as well. Avoid large bottles of water as you won’t be able to pick them up. Instead, use bendy straws and small cups you can reach without getting up. Clothing In the first few weeks (4 to 6), you will be wearing a surgical bra. Your surgeon will instruct you on the proper clothing as well. Typically, it’s recommended to wear loose-fitting clothes. Your arms movement will be restricted in the first week or two so try to wear buttoned or zipped tops. If you need to go out in cold weather make sure you wear extra breast pads as cold can intensify the pain in your chest. Alternatively, cover your breasts by crossing your arms, but try not to overstretch them. Hygiene Avoid taking a bath in the first six weeks. You can, however, take a shallow one when you don’t submerge your upper body in water. It’s better to use a soap bar than a pump gel as a bar won’t cause pain to your chest muscles. Medications You will be on certain medications in the first couple of days, or even weeks depending on your body’s healing time. It’s important to take your pills with food, or right after you’ve had it. Medications, if taken on an empty stomach can cause nausea and other unwanted side effects. Make sure you place them in a pill planner as well. Opening containers can be painful. Tell your surgeon about the medications you take as certain ones have to be avoided after the procedure, i.e. blood-thinners. Sleeping Resting You should avoid sleeping flat on your back. It may feel unnatural at first, but an upright position is much better for the recovery process. Maintain this elevated position for up to six weeks. Avoid sleeping on your belly or sides too. Equip yourself with a lot of pillows for comfort and support. It will stop the implants from shifting, which is crucial in the first stage of recovery as the tissues around them have not healed yet. Get lots of rest and sleep too. Free-time activities It’s recommended to take at least a one-week leave from work. That gives you plenty of time after the surgery, so make sure you are not bored. Keep yourself busy with favorite books, crosswords, films or anything else you like as long as it doesn’t involve too much moving around. Physical activity is not advised for at least four weeks after the procedure so you should limit any movement which makes your breast bounce. Massage them if your surgeon instructed so. Conclusion Whether you have just undergone the procedure or you’re still thinking about it, you should know that taking certain precautions to ensure a healthy recovery process is essential. Today’s medicine allows you to limit the side effects to a minimum, but breast augmentation is still a surgical procedure. Make sure you follow the tips to fully enjoy the after-recovery benefits.

How Writing Helps a Resume

How Writing Helps a ResumeWriters who often ask how writing helps a resume want to know what is in writing. If they didn't know what was in writing, they would find a person more difficult to write about. The number of the people who are willing to pretend to be a writer to a prospective employer is alarming. Writing is just one of the few options available to people who have some money to invest in it.A writer can either be an individual or a small business. Either way, a writer has to possess knowledge of words and good grammar. To be more precise, the writer should be able to convey his message to the reader in a manner that satisfies the reader. Many people think that the written word is boring and uninteresting. They forget that the written word is meant to be entertaining. The writer is supposed to evoke emotions from the reader. The writer should use such emotions to his or her advantage. This is done by the writer's vocabulary. The vocabulary should be able to pique the interes t of the reader. As a writer, a writer has to decide what he or she wants to say. Most writers will try to go into some depth about the topic. This can be an important point for a writer because he or she may need to go to great lengths to ensure that the material being presented is well researched. A writer cannot write something just for the sake of writing. Writers have to use the material to evoke emotion and to create an impact.Another important thing to consider is the style of writing. A writer must know how to turn his or her thoughts into words so that the reader will be moved. If the writer knows the secrets of the writing trade, he or she can make the best use of this profession.Being a professional resume writer is quite different from being a writer of articles and poetry. The best writers do not write everything about them. They are able to include what they are good at in the resume and leave the rest to the reader. How writing helps a resume depends on the writer and t he audience. Any writer can write about anything but only a few are able to convey their message in a way that motivates and convinces the reader.

5 More Ways to Motivate Yourself When Youre Uninspired at Work

5 More Ways to Motivate Yourself When You’re Uninspired at Work Most of us will have those days when work feels like a drag and we lack motivation. But when you can’t figure out how to get out of that negative state for a long period of time, it’s time to make a change. While leaving for another opportunity is certainly an option (and possibly the right one for you), you owe it to yourself to consider interim strategies before you take an irrevocable step. Last week, I shared seven ways to get motivated at work again. Today, I’d like to share five more that may help you get that spark back in your career. 5 More Ways to Get Motivated at Work 1. Be Entrepreneurial When it feels like everything is laid out for you and there’s no room for creativity, that’s the time to call on the entrepreneurial part of yourself to step out and step up. Experiment with ways to do things better. Keep an eye out for improvements in efficiency and outcomes, and you could do this on your own or with others. For example, if you’re saddled with highly repetitive work, could you figure out a way to automate or outsource it, or eliminate the need for it altogether through a more innovative way to handle things further upstream? Once you’ve come up with an idea, you can pitch it to your managers. The beauty is, when you’re the one who comes up with a different (and better) way of doing things, you’re the natural one to be put in charge of the new system! Where could you innovate in your workplace? 2. Start a Side Project Whether it’s an internal or external project, starting a project on the side can provide a creative outlet when your “day job” doesn't provide the right kinds of challenge anymore. Depending on what you feel is missing from your work, you could choose from a variety of options. If you want learning opportunities, then it could be taking a course or getting a degree. If you’re interested in creating an additional revenue stream beyond your job, you could monetize your expertise through one of the many ways my friend Dorie Clark describes in her book, Entrepreneurial You. And as my friend Susie Moore recommends, you could develop this entrepreneurial project into a proper “side hustle” that could lead you into a whole new career as that side project blossoms into something bigger. 3. Position Yourself for the Next Opportunity If your motivation is low because you’ve topped out in your current job or can see that happening soon, then it’s time to position yourself for the next opportunity. Whether that’s going after a promotion, getting staffed on a new project or leading an initiative, make sure you’re taking actions that will help demonstrate you’ve got what it takes to get to the next level, whatever that next level means for you. A great place to start is by activating your network, which means having conversations with people to share your ideas and aspirations and get advice on what accomplishments are needed to get where you want to go. In particular, it’s useful to speak to your boss and mentors about your desire to advance and determine some actionable steps you’d like to take. Maybe you could propose a new project or take a course to learn a new skill. Perhaps you need to make the case for more resources, so you can delegate and step up to a more strategic level. What do you need to demonstrate or ask for to position yourself for the next opportunity? 4. Look at Things from Your Manager’s Perspective If your boss is a demotivating factor for you, take a moment to look at things from their perspective. Life may not be sunshine and roses for him or her either. It’s hard being in charge when you don’t have much leeway to make your team members’ jobs inspiring. It’s challenging to keep doing more with less resources. Frankly, your manager might feel the same way you do. And in all likelihood, your manager may not know how to be a great boss â€" at least not yet. Often, people get promoted into management roles because they excelled at an area of expertise, not because they are already great managers. And they’re expected to hit the ground running without training or support. Remember, most people don’t come into the office with the objective of doing a bad job. Not you, and not your manager. So, how can you manage upward and help your manager be a good boss for you? 5. Create New Habits It’s harder to feel motivated when you’re tired, stressed or feeling unhealthy. Sometimes that’s for good reason, and sometimes it’s because we’ve fallen into habits that push us further into feeling less than our best selves. Maybe it’s staying up late, having that extra glass of wine, or eating junk food when we’re on the go. Habits are simply what we routinely do, and it’s up to each of us to choose the habits that give us the best chance to get and stay motivated at work and in life. What’s the one habit that would make the most positive difference if you changed or adopted it? Your Path to Self-Motivation Finding and harnessing your own intrinsic motivation is a powerful driver for a successful career and a life worth living. The thing is, it requires some focus and attention to get and stay in that zone of self-motivation. So, when you’re feeling stuck, take a moment to figure out what the issue is. Is it the lack of alignment with your organization or job? The people, whether that’s your boss or colleagues? The absence of opportunities for learning and growth? Your personal state of well-being (or lack of it)? Or something else? Knowing the answer makes it easier to identify whether the issue is specific to you, to your work situation, or a combination of both. This in turn drives the strategies and action steps you choose to pursue. Some action steps you can take unilaterally without anyone else’s cooperation or permission. For example, changing your habits and adopting a different mindset. Those are good ones to start with because you can get going right away. Other strategies involve getting buy-in from others, for example asking to be staffed on new projects or negotiating for more resources, and may take longer to implement. Your path to self-motivation will likely include a mix of several strategies. The key is to experiment and find the combination that works for you. The key to self-motivation is to experiment and find what works for you. So, what will you do? What’s the next step you will take on your path to self-motivation? Leave a comment and let me know.
